Deer Camp Creole Beans
1 very large can dark red kidney beans 1 pound cubed stew meat (the tougher the better) 1 large onion 1 pound meaty smokey bacon cubed (very important) 2 teaspoons garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon pepper 2 - 3 tablespoons whistershire sauce (you may want more)
Add everything in a large pot raw. Add enough water to cover all the ingredients
As this cooks it will thicken. Bring to a boil then simmer for 3 - 4 hours. Taste it to see if you want to add a little salt. It tastes even better the next day.
This recipe has been handed down from my great grandmother but I have altered it with the amount of seasonings and changed the meat from venison to beef. It is really wonderful with venison but it is hard for me to get.
Enjoy! My family does!
